Hello friends

I am excited to meet you all!

My name is Nicolette.
I started Kidipractice in 2017, with a background of academic medicine since 2000. My aim was and still is to combine my knowledge of world-class academics and research with a friendly, relaxed environment to provide patients with the best information and life-course plan to successfully live with their medical condition.
Knowing is like building blocks. Understanding is arranging and rearranging of the blocks.

I do not work alone; I have a wonderful administrative team who will answer your calls, emails and queries quickly and effortlessly. I am also blessed with great paediatric colleagues at Life Groenkloof Hospital and together we will ensure that your medical journey at our hospital is handled with professionalism and kindness.

As a parent of two beautiful teenage girls, I have the privilege of understanding what parenthood is all about. I am grateful that my husband, Chris, my girls, and my family have taught me importance of good communication, unwavering support, and unconditional love. Riding bikes or going for a run over weekends, listening to school choir performances, and of course walkies with our two enthusiastic Jackies (Olaf and Vlekkie) keep me young and active.

Preparing for Your Visit

What to Expect During Your Appointment

At KidiPractice, we aim to make your visit as smooth and informative as possible. Below are some important details you can expect during your appointment. This will help ensure we can make the most of our time together and provide the best care for you and your child.

• Welcome

  You will be greeted by Lynda, Kidipractice’s friendly administrator. Please ensure that you are 5-10 minutes early and have ample time to find parking and make your way to our office.

• Expect a Lengthy First Appointment

  First appointments can be lengthy and last an hour or more; so ensure that you have a snack or favorite toy to keep little ones busy.

• Minimize Distractions

  Space is limited and too many distractions will limit our time together; best leave other children at home.

• Bring Essential Documents

  Please bring all previous laboratory results, photos, radiology reports along to the consultation. Remember your little one’s Road to Health Booklet if applicable.

• A Thorough Discussion & Examination

  We will have a comprehensive discussion about all relevant history, followed by a complete clinical examination and a comprehensive explanation of your or your child’s condition, as well as a clear stepwise management plan.

• Clear Communication for Future Plans

  All future management plans such as hospital admissions, PMB forms, or scripts will be clearly communicated by Lynda via our Kidipractice email.
